Hi.
My name is Sam, short for Samantha. I'm a totally blind young adult and advocate for the blind and those with mental illness. I have recently created a yahoo group for anyone, but especially those that are blind and need emotional support. So far it is a very safe and drama free list. People on the list are dealing with things like depression, anxiety PTSD, Dissociative identity disorder, looking for a job, relationship problems and more. I'd love for as many people to know about the list as possible.
To subscribe send an e-mail with your name and reasons why you'd like to join the list to:
blind-mentalhealth-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
cool and what an awesome idea, smiles.
I'm not sure if yahoo groups works on the Apex.
And it doesn't seem like you can't post unless you have a yahoo account.
You would need a Yahoo account I assume. And yes, this is a wonderful idea.
You only need a Yahoo account if you want to access the list archives or any of the other Yahoogroups features. Since the Yahoo website is almost totally inaccessible now, at least as far as managing/viewing groups is concerned, you don't need one. Just use the subscription address mentioned above, using your email provider of choice, and you're good to go. You'll receive all the group's messages in your inbox. This way, there should be no issues with the Braille Note, either, assuming you're using the email client and not the actual Gmail website or whatever email service you use.
Also, this post was made a year ago, so I just wanted to say that the list is still running and active.
The reason i ask is because I am on a yahoo group list and every time i try to post to it, it won't go through.
that probably means that you have the group's address wrong, then.
I coppied and pasted it in to the thing.
I have no clue why that would be, but have you tried sending your messages from a computer and seeing whether it's an issue with the Braille Note or whether it's user error?
I do not have a computer, nor a phone.
